The game will be in real time. This means every minute of your survival will count. All though unlike 'Dead Rising' I say don't use this feature to have deadlines, that was why that game failed. The only challenge should be survival. Only one problem, we need to have a reason for the main character to wait all this time to get out.

he has to cross the whole of Texas, he starts on the border and has to work across it to the coast.

But it takes about 5 minutes to cross San Andreas. How could you get that to last 28 days.

San Andreas was on DVD remember, with higher capacity comes opertunites for much much much larger maps, and also i'm considering an objective system, were you move from town to town within a couple of days, (still working on that) and once you're in a town, you can't move on without completeing your objectives.

Could there be a sort of canyon splitting the map so about 15 days in you find somthing to cross the canyon.
